Capital Campaign
& Projects

St. George's kicked off a Capital Campaign in July 2005, during our Centennial year, to continue through July 2008. The money raised is being applied towards Capital Projects, with the majority of the work planned to take place from the day after Easter (April 9, 2007) into early September 2007.

Capital Projects

The Capital Projects Committee was formed to make recommendations to the Vestry for the scope of capital improvement work to be undertaken, the budget, the selection of an architect and other professionals, and the timetable to be followed. The work is being funded by the proceeds of the Capital Campaign.

Parish Hall Grand Re-opening

On Saturday, September 29, 2007 a special event was held to inaugurate the newly renovated Parish Hall and to celebrate the completion of the first phase of our capital projects. The Rt. Rev. Mark Beckwith, Bishop of Newark attended the celebration to bless the Parish Hall and to consecrate the outdoor altar given by former St. George's Rector, the Rev Craig Burlington in memory of parishioner, Bill Andersen. (See photos.)

Special thanks were given to Bill MacIntosh, chair of the Capital Projects Committee for the many long hours spent working on this project and for his leadership, professionalism and calm. The wardens also offered thanks for the leadership of the Rev. Bernie Poppe and the essential site management services provided by Karen Comi.

Planned Projects Presentation

In December 2006, Bill Macintosh, chair of the Capital Projects Committee, and our Rosen Group archtitects made a presentation at a parish meeting of the planned projects.
