Like so many in Maplewood, I'm a New York City transplant. I came to St. George's as Rector in the fall of 2002, drawn by the blend of neighborhood and families living with a commitment to progressive Christian faith and a practical grasp of the connections between urban and suburban issues, culture and spirit.

The Rev. Christian Carroll has served as Priest Associate at St. George's since her ordination to the priesthood in December 2007.
Before earning a master's degree in divinity from Drew University's Theological School and entering the priesthood, Chris earned master's degrees in psychology and social work, and worked as a clinical social worker.
In addition to assisting the Rector, Chris is involved in adult education and spiritual direction.

John Ayer began as Organist and Choirmaster in April 2008.
John came to St. George's from a similar position at Readington Reformed Church in Readington, NJ. He previously served as Interim Music Director at Trinity Church in Princeton, and before that for 17 years as Organist and Choirmaster at St. John's Episcopal Church in Memphis, TN.

Olivia Pope, a resident of Austin, Texas, is a recent graduate of Kalamazoo College where she majored in religion. She has long been involved with the Girl Scouts, continuing as a counselor and mentor even after her own camping days. She has a passion for working with children and youth and social justice and this combined with her developing spirituality led her to the Episcopal Service Corp, a national program of the Episcopal Church based on other volunteer organizations like the Peace Corp.

Cheryl was elected to the Vestry in 2003 and has served as Warden since 2008. Her term ends in 2014.
Val was elected to the Vestry in 2008 and has served as Warden since 2011. Her term ends in 2015.

Cathy was elected to the Vestry in 2008 and is in the class of 2014.
David was elected to the Vestry in 2011 and is in the Class of 2014.
George was elected to the Vestry in 2011 and is in the Class of 2015. He serves as Director of the Lectors & Layreaders.
Kirk was elected to the Vestry in 2008 and is in the Class of 2015.
Lisa was elected to the Vestry in 2010 and is in the Class of 2016.
Martha was elected to the Vestry in 2012 and is in the Class of 2015.
Ron was elected to the Vestry in 2010 and is in the Class of 2016. His area of oversight is Communications.
Tom was elected to the Vestry in 2009 and is in the Class of 2016. He serves as Clerk of the Vestry.
Tony was elected to the Vestry in 2012 and is in the Class of 2014.

Clint is co-chair of the "Fix the Furnace" Capital Campaign.
Lindsay is co-chair of the "Fix the Furnace" Capital Campaign and Editor-in-Chief of the parish newsletter, Dragon Tales.
Nina is webmaster of St. George's and manages the listservs.
Sharon is co-chair of the Stewardship Committee.
